Most Recent Work This oak chair was encrusted with multiple layers of red paint which as all carefully removed by hand. The embossed decorative carvings on the backrest were almost hidden by the red paint, before removal started. The tight, close weave of the caning helps give this piece a light and airy feeling

Most Recent Work Walnut cradle with turned spokes. This charming piece had badly damaged legs and needed refinishing. The missing mattress slats were replaced with red oak slats.

Most Recent Work Italian Renaissance Revival parlour chair. Major structural repairs were required for this 1890

Italian Renaissance Revival parlour chair. Major structural repairs were required for this 1890's Victorian beauty, whose arms and back legs were badly weakened from years of use. The original dowel joints were reinforced with metal angle irons, wood blocking and plugged screws. Two of four original casters were replaced, as was the missing decorative finial on the chair top. The handsome carvings were nearly all intact.

Eastlake hall mirror, circa 1880's. This mirror was in a pile of broken pieces and had to be completely rebuilt. Most of the walnut burl veneer was salvaged including the turned columns. Aniline dye and shellac finish.
